Lance Bombardier, who is a wireless operator, has shown admirable courage and determination throughout the North west European campaign.
On a number of occasions, notably on the 12th of March 1945 opposite Emmerich and the 14th March 1945 opposite Rees, he has subjected to mortar fire and shell fire at observation posts, but he has always carried oh with his job with the result that shoots were successfully completed often under very difficult conditions.
On another occassion, 24th February 1945 at Louisendorf, a carrier outside the command post was hit and caught fire. In spite of continued shelling , he immediately jumped into another carrier nearby and drove it clear . He then assisted in putting out the fire in another carrier. has continually set a fine example to those with him and his general steadiness and cheerfulness has been a great encouragement to his companions
